The purpose of this program is to recognize our Birch Run Area Heroes. Anyone can apply to sponsor a banner, you will be sponsoring a Birch Run Hometown Hero, who must be a veteran, fire department, or police department, and have a connection to, lived, worked, or volunteered in the Birch Run Taymouth Area. (alive or deceased)
The Banners are made of heavy duty 18 oz. vinyl material, will have a digital printed photo of the Hero and Name. Two additional lines that you may use. Example Branch of Service, and Dates. Banners will hang from Memorial Day till November and are the property of the Hometown Hero Banner Program until retirement. Upon retirement the banner will be presented to the sponsor.The banners are approximately 24” x 48”, double sided, and have top and bottom pole pockets, and will be hung from the existing Birch Run Village street poles.
There is a limited amount of spaces (50) available. Spaces will be filled on a first-come basis. Banner location is the sole discretion of the committee.
Applicants will need to provide the following:
Good Quality Photo (photo will be returned)
Photo Release Form signed by person in photo (next of kin if deceased)
Sponsor Information Form completed
Verification of Veteran information (If military photo that’s enough proof)
Check for $120.00 payable to Birch Run VFW AUX with memo “Hometown Hero Banner” (photos needing touchups or editing will be $20.00 extra charge)
Deadline for sponsoring banner is March 1, 2024 or until 50 spaces are filled.
Birch Run VFW Aux / Hometown Hero Banner Program will not be responsible for replacing banners that are stolen, damaged or destroyed due to act of nature or vandalism.
No refunds will be provided on banners that have been ordered. The Banner committee reserves the right to amend the rules at any time and cancel or postpone the display of banners, with or without notice.
